This is What Happens When I try to fly a Power Kite

Awesome, he’s got the hang of it! I think!

Yes, you really did crash the kite into those two girls, Darren.

Me at Mall = Ball of Stress

My jeans have a giant hole in the left hip pocket that threatens to liberate my wallet. So today I spent 3 hours in a mall looking for a new pair. I went to every place in the mall that had guys’ jeans, tried on jeans in 4 different places, criss-crossed the mall three times, and at one point decided that if I ate something maybe I would be less troubled and frustrated and more likely to buy jeans. I did end up with a pair of jeans, and now all I have to do is find a place that would like to charge me less than 40 dollars for hemming them…

Also, Panda Express thinks that Orange Flavored Chicken is a Panda Express Original. That’s like me saying that I invented Grilled Cheese.

Teddy Ruxpin Making a Comeback

Teddy Ruxpin, Grubby, and TweegTeddy Ruxpin was by far my favorite toy when I was little, followed closely by the Chipmunks and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I had the guy that played tapes while his eyes and mouth moved, I watched the cartoon, and the best part was the live-action, people-in-costumes show/movie (I can’t remember which).

Now, they’re re-introducing Teddy Ruxpin and adding digital audio. Apparently they’ve got a big nostalgia market with parents, and people have 85% brand recall for Teddy Ruxpin, which sounds pretty crazy to me. But really, who doesn’t remember Teddy Ruxpin? Penny Arcade certainly does.

I wonder if the guy who did the Teddy Ruxpin voice will be back. And if the live-action show will have a second coming. Remember Grubby? And Newton Gimmick? And Tweeg. Tweeg was a badass.

Best Coffee In SF?

Well, I’ve never actually tried it. But supposedly the finest coffee in San Francisco is at the Blue Bottle Coffee Company, whose line of eager coffee drinkers is the first thing I see when I wake up in the morning and look out the window. Too posh for its own good, I think.
