Halo 2: The Xbox and the Internet

Halo 2 is what got my Xbox out of my closet and hooked up to my TV again. I play it mostly with 7 random strangers over the internet, and most of the time I get beat by most of them. I’m not that good at Halo. Also, if you know me, tell me your Xbox username.

But geeking-it-up by playing video games online can only be surpassed by what I do next, which is go look up my live Halo 2 stats on the internet afterwords. In fact, anyone can go look at my Halo 2 stats right here (I told you I’m not that good). You can even subscribe to the RSS feed of all your past games (which I did, but the info is minimal, plus it’s not really news to me, so I don’t really read it when it comes up on my Bloglines).

On a related note, people complain about “the ending” of the single player game. I thought it was fine. There was a whole big lead-up to it, and the two stories in the game got closer and closer until all the characters were in the same scenes. Thumbs up from me.

Election 2004: A Catastrophic Success

This is how it feels to lose big.

I’m in the minority of the people in this country. The majority just affirmed Bush’s presidency, which I can’t believe. They just piled more Republicans into the House and the Senate, the president literally has a mandate to govern this country, and at least one, probably two, and maybe three justices will turn over in the next 4 years.

I didn’t see it happenning like this. I never thought we would lose Ohio. I thought Kerry would win Ohio, and after that everything would fall the right way. Ohio is so far out of reach now. It’s not going to be like Florida.

I was so excited until tonight. Now I’m just scared. Hold on tight.
